Description

To complete we should:
  • Integrate ldv-online with a new drupal framework. I'd like to implement separate binding module to avoid such complicated transfers in future.
  • Install required tools on the new linuxtesting site. It'd be nice to create automatic installation infrastructure as for all other ldv tools but it may be rather unusual as I understand...
  • Try to move existed data to the new site since it's very bad tone to erase this data each time when we update something in ldv-online. I suggest manual procedure since I hope that this part of ldv online will be completely changed in future.
  • Adjust security issues (what with ports?..).
  • Test a bit by hand.

Something else?

Interesting topic, whether we'd like to provide just an english version of ldv-online or a russian one too? I thought about this when Constantine have said that for each page its language should be specified explicitly (although there is ability to specify nonsensitive pages indeed). Translation will take a couple of days, I suggest.

Russian version is not a priority at the moment.

I attach my way of a new ldv-online instance installation. This instruction can be used when an automatic installation script will be designed.

A lot of work made by hand and a couple of workarounds allowed us to move ldv-online to the new linuxtesting. Nevertheless, in my own opinion, current ldv-online should be completely reworked, especially in its relations with ldv-tools (the main DB schema, ldv-upload, etv, etc.) and in its administration (e.g. it should allow to get uploaded drivers easily, we should know when our server fails and so on).
