Attach is called from usb_serial_probe() http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source/drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c?v=4.2#L1041
Release is called from destroy_serial() http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source/drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c?v=4.2#L140
